Lifeworks: The Works at Pleasant Valley
Residents started moving into The Works at Pleasant Valley in January 2014. Developed by LifeWorks, The Works provides 45 units of affordable housing to low-income individuals and families, many of whom are LifeWorks clients. Located next to ACC’s Eastview Campus, The Works provides access to education and job training, in addition to onsite support services.
The 45-unit development was partially funded with 2006 affordable housing bonds. In addition to $650,000 in housing bonds, the project also received funding from the state housing finance agency.
LifeWorks is an Austin nonprofit that is focused on helping youth and young adults, including youth aging out of foster care. By providing a variety of services – including emergency shelter, counseling, education, and job training – LifeWorks helps to create self-sufficient youth and stable families.
