It’s an exciting time for HousingWorks! This week, I started a new job with the City of Austin as Community Development Administrator for the Department of Neighborhood Housing and Community Development. I am really excited about continuing my work in affordable housing and community development and I will still be involved in the community dialogue around affordability and equity. I suspect I will continue to work with many of the same stakeholders and I hope to bring more people and perspectives into the conversation.
I have loved my time at HousingWorks. I have been fortunate to work with a diverse and engaged board. Each member brings a valuable set of experiences and expertise. In addition, I have been extremely fortunate to work with a talented team of professionals, including Nora Linares-Moeller, Norris Deajon, and Awais Azhar. While the HousingWorks board conducts a thorough search for a new executive director, Nora will serve as interim executive director.
Over the past 10 years, HousingWorks has accomplished a lot of important work that has contributed to making Austin a more inclusive community. Rest assured HousingWorks will continue to provide important research, education, and advocacy on the topic of affordability. This is a pivotal time for Austin. We have unique opportunities to create greater affordability and inclusivity for people at all income levels. Please stay tuned and remain engaged!
