Part of HousingWorks Austin’s mission is to increase the supply of affordable housing through education and advocacy. On Thursday, September 3rd, HousingWorks Austin and Austin Board of Realtors (ABoR) hosted a bus tour for Mayor Steve Adler, a few members of the Austin City Council and their staff members. This gave the city officials an opportunity to quickly view some of the innovative affordable housing developments in the city and learn about how they came to be and the tenants they serve.

Among the stops on the tour were Foundation Communities properties Capital Studios and M Station, the Mueller Development, Guadalupe NDC’s Guadalupe Saldana Subdivision, and Capital Metro’s Plaza Saltillo.  City leaders were able to ask questions and discuss ideas related to affordable housing.
